On Friday, the 17th of May at 18:30, in front of the National Theatre, the LGBT Youth Organization Deystvie invites you to mark the International Day Against Homophobia, Transphobia and Biphobia (IDAHOT) together. The international slogan this year is ‘Justice and Protection for All,’ because LGBTI people still face injustice and threats.
We encourage everyone to bring candles (or another source of light) which we will light together. Let us in this way express our empathy and support to those of us who have in the past, or continue today, to live in darkness, as well as honor those who have become victims to crimes because of their sexual orientation or gender identity.
Let us light a candle also as a symbol of our hope to have the opportunity to build and live together in a society which values human life and basic human rights, including those of LGBTI people. Let us give light to anyone who needs it.
This action is organized in collaboration with the youth group Rainbow Rays, which aims to establish communities of young LGBTI activists between the ages of 14 and 29 in Sofia and around the country. The group is part of the project Rainbow Rays: Youth Rainbow in Action, financed by the European Solidarity Corps.
If you are a victim or a witness of a homophobic or transphobic hate crime, feel free to contact us at info@deystvie.org
