On the 4th of May, the second meeting of the youth LGBT group Rainbow Rays will take place. During the meeting, we will have the opportunity to explore the concept of intersectionality, which has been a main focus for inclusive youth work and activism in the last few years.
Together we will try to answer these questions:
What do sexism, racism, LGBTI-phobia and economic inequality have in common?
How do various marginalized identities influence each other in creating unique experiences of inequality?
What is privilege, whom does it concern and how does it manifest itself?
• What does intersectionality mean and how are different struggles for social justice related?
How does all of this relate to me and what can I do?
The youth LGBTI group Rainbow Rays aims to establish communities of young LGBTI activists, between the ages of 14 and 29, in Sofia and across the country. The group is part of the project Rainbow Rays: Youth Rainbow in Action, financed by the European Solidarity Corps.
