On the 13th of April 2019, in Rainbow Hub, the first meeting of the youth group Rainbow Rays will take place, where we will talk about forming a community of active young people, the change we want to encourage in our society and where we can start.
Why and how can I join Rainbow Rays?
If you feel the need to be a part of a community but you sometimes wonder if you are the last LGBTI person on the planet;
If social apathy horrifies you and you want to be a part of an active civil society in which people speak up about causes which do not always directly affect them;
If you are wondering what happens to LGBTI visibility after the latest ‘gender’ scandal has blown over on social media;
If you think that your experience as an LGBTI person has made you more understanding of the experiences other people from different minority groups have;
If you believe that activism is multidimensional and anyone can find their niche within it
What is Rainbow Rays: Youth Rainbow in Action?
Rainbow Rays is a project funded by the European Solidarity Corps, which aims to establish communities of young LGBTI activists, between the ages of 14 and 29, in Sofia and across the country. We believe that activism has many faces and joining a community of people with similar views, experiences and a hope for change is a good first step. We have created a space in which anyone is free to be themselves, which is why we do not tolerate acts of racism, sexism, LGBTI-phobia, etc.
As part of the project, we will participate in initiatives and events which aim to raise public awareness of the reality people from different marginalized groups face, we will share our experiences both among ourselves and also with others in meetings with various activists in the human rights sphere.
